Make your own Colored Sugar for Cakes, Cupcakes and Cookies……

Posted on: October 12, 2009

With the upcoming holiday season alot of people use colored sugar on their Cakes, Cookies and Cupcakes…… there is an easy way to make your own colored Sugar which is a great way to save a little money……

Ingredients ½ cup sugar for each color Food colors (gel or liquid)

Snack sized ziplock bags

Instructions Put sugar in a  ziplock baggie.

Pick a color from below and add the food colors to sugar in bag.

Push out air and seal the bag.

Squeeze the sugar in bag until it becomes colored.

Once the color is all mixed in I lay out the sugar on a cookie sheet to allow it to dry out, it you have any lumps you can use a sppon to smash the lumps flat, once all dried you can store your sugar in a ziplock baggie or like I do, by re-using a jar that had colored sugar in it!
